- "up and dressed" is an accomplishment! especially when no tears are involved. yippee, i'll take it!
- i still misspell words and don't notice, like saying wimper instead of whimper
- and when people point it out to me, it takes longer than it should for me to get their point
- and then i laugh, and hope they can do the same
the irritation in my incision was nylon, inappropriately left in longer than a week (yes, i did go see the surgeon for a post-op, and if i had known she needed to remove something then i would have asked her about it!) ugh! so the physician's assistant pulled it out while i shook my feet and clenched a wad of pants fabric into a ball at my side... all the while he's saying "sorry, sorry, sorry! it is worse the longer it's left in..." 'ya think?
will see a pain specialist today -- med cycle yesterday was so unpleasant, so expect we'll tweak a couple of them... looking for the right mix of dampening discomfort without making me into a zombie noodle. both aspects are important, but for me and my personality, not being a zombie noodle is MORE important than being somewhat uncomfortable (i've got a bit of practice with discomfort and it's much more familiar to me than the overdrugged not-sure-i-could-walk-or-talk state)
all things considered, have to say i'm feeling better today... a little shocked at that and chuckling at my surprise. think it helps to not have a fever, to believe the anti-virals are helping with the shingles [yup, isn't that an unwelcome guest to the party], and pretty excited to have a week off from chemo drugs! yes, i know i can't get TOO excited, cause they'll be back in my world bright and early on the 15th, but that seems a long ways away to me right now...
planning to enjoy each day in between now and then, such as they come.
