So i met with a new dr today, to talk about radiation and whether it made sense in my current situation.
we agree it does not! YAY, taking something off the let's-do-THIS-to-Bea list.
surgery on my neck doesn't guarantee that i don't have cancer lurking in that neighborhood, but chemo is likely to target any remaining metastases as well as anything could.
radiation will come into my future if i have need of a targeted therapy -- if i end up with symptoms somewhere else or a pet/ct shows everything EXCEPT one area has responded as we desire...
but for the moment, not scheduled or planned.
chemo tomorrow (early because no openings in Friday's schedule and it wasn't a problem since i didn't have drugs last Friday).
still think too much and still have creepy-crawly skin... but haven't needed additional breakthrough pain meds... so still considering this to be a happy place.
No radiation in the foreseeable future is a good thing! I hope your let's-do-THIS-to-Bea list remains short and effective. Sounds like things are under control for the moment. Hope you are finding lovely hats and scarves to add to your wardrobe.
