"the Proven Nutritional Program for Cancer..."
It just might work. And it is not for me. I see the impact to my life/lifestyle/budget as more negative than chemo (what a standard to compare it against, huh!) Expensive, labor-intensive, time-intensive, possibly harmful if i reacted to something about it.... and so radically different than how i live right now, that even if i were to go to a center for x-weeks of monitored care, then what? How would i go from that regimen to anything resembling what i think of as a 'normal' life?
Oh, but it makes me sad... i know that one day i might be tired enough and dealing with drug reactions enough that i say "no thanks" to chemo, knowing full well that i am at a fork in the road... signing a death wish, entering a new chapter.
Perhaps this emotional reaction is a preparatory introduction to how THAT day that might feel. i do believe i want to eat well, that my body is wise in spite of it's partial confusion, and that there are nutritional choices that i can make to support my body's wisdom.
And so i will keep looking for my next steps... and i'll definitely do less than the Gersons recommend and i just might live fewer days/months/years as a result of that choice... but i'll be doing it on my terms and in a sustainable way... independent snot that i am.
