A shout-out to Cindy & David

Not only do i have a host of friends all over the globe, many of them have sent me an outpouring of comments on this blog and emails about this blog... it's been amazing and i am very grateful for your intention and attention as i walk through this experience.  Today was an improvement pain-wise over yesterday (additional bone meds last friday, so initial response to chemo is different when that's on the agenda).  I went out looking at life expectancy statistics for my situation, then decided it is more important for me to concentrate on MY particular unique situation than to get overly concerned about how few of us Stage IV Breast Cancer people live for very long.

Because i've got today to live, and the sun was out (and lovely, although surprisingly chilly for how beautiful it looked)!!!

My post on quilting legacy prompted Cindy to write the sweetest comments here and stories about a quilt from her great-grandmother that she never met... at my request she sent me pictures of that loveliness and agreed i could post here:

isn't it gorgeous?  i'm so glad that she has it and that it resonates with her history as well as her love of sailing!  Go read her comments for the full effect, then come back and smile at it once again....

My dear friend David sent me an astonishing email with a profound statement in it: "You do not need to sign your quilts, because they are your signature."  and so it is!

Here's a link to a public album on Facebook where i've gotten in the habit of collecting my quilt pix -- not all of the photos are high-quality, but for those of you who haven't seen them and like quilts, it is likely to make you smile.  I have been thinking i should scan some of the older ones that i have photos of...  especially that cat one i have been wanting to repeat!!!

still loving the buzz cut, laughing that some is growing and others not -- expect the arrested development ones to fall out first... we'll see if that theory holds.  I see it as something else to be curious about :)
