and most of the time it makes me laugh (after i've cringed inside)
case in point: checker in Harmons... tells me twice, slowly, which bag she's put my prescription in, and asks me if i want drive up service for my 3 light bags (didn't really need anything, but shopped anyhow!) sigh.
no thanks, but thanks for offering...
on the other end of the spectrum, i was wearing a hat in a fabric store (there with my friend Sarah) -- guess it disguised my condition from the new-to-me checkout clerk... took it off while talking to another clerk i have known for a long time... Sarah said to me later "did you notice how uncomfortable the checkout clerk became when you took off your hat?" nope. i was obliviously enjoying catching up with my friend.
guess it has the full spectrum of impacting ME and others and i just have to expect it will continue. won't take it personally tho, and won't overmuch try to hide... besides, my head itches and is sometimes hot in a hat... so why shouldn't i leave it exposed? maybe i am too much of a feminist -- men can walk around with bald heads, so i should be able to as well!
saw an ad for bald-headed henna decoration that looked like a maze/brain... concept could be amusing/fun... maybe birds or flowers when mine is totally done shedding... or perhaps fake cornrows LOL
