Throwback Thursday... and Happy Fourth of July

July 1965

me and a kitty, July 1965
Usually i acknowledge throwback thursday on Facebook sometime Friday when i see the posts that get tagged #tbt

Today i was slightly more on the ball :D

Happy Independence Day for all of us American celebrators... just got an email from an Indian friend in the midst of Ramadan... and not too far away from Canada Day...  may we always have reasons to celebrate

I had a fabulous birthday weekend -- told one of my friends that i tend to celebrate life all the time now, so birthday DAY is less of an issue -- i used to ignore it except for the decades and then i would do something "big" {like build a harp, take a ferry up the coast of Norway, or wander to Oz and sleep at the zoo!}

Some uncertainty about what's going on w/ me health-wise and home-wise... and i must often remind myself to focus on the day at hand and what i can influence... and really work on accepting all the things i cannot change.

Liking my new meds; i see the pain doctor on the 16th and we will clarify what next steps are appropriate.  In stark contrast to the way my prior doctor treated me, she is proactive and paying attention {the office called and rescheduled my july 2nd appt to the 16th -- she reviewed my timings, realized i would need a new prescription before coming to see her, wrote one for me without my having to ask, and called me to let me know it was at the front desk}.  YAY!

Haven't met my new oncologist yet, but that comes next week with bone drugs.  It will be my challenge to let him be entirely himself (not constantly compare him to the retiring one that i was so fond of)... somehow it will work itself out... and the pain dr saga has reminded me that i always have a choice! so if i don't like him, i need to be willing to move on.
