so much random do-this, buy-my-report-and-be-magically-healthy stuff comes my way... and i do tend to read more of it than i probably should, since i am the queen of overthinking ANYWAY and don't need much encouragement to thrash... but again today i got a conspiracy-theory diatribe about how big pharmaceutical companies don't want to really cure cancer...
i like the appropriately named quackwatch organization and see many of the things i get marketed about documented there with obvious scam-alerts, but even that organization is skewed the OTHER direction (it claims nothing is wrong with white sugar and organic food is not better than conventionally-grown -- i tend to think both of those statements are short-sighted)
sigh
sometimes it feels like there's an agenda behind it all -- rants from all corners of the spectrum {perhaps akin to the political scene!} it's easy for me to dismiss the cancer cures that are doing bizarre things like feeding people their own urine... and the ones that have over-the-top claims but no rigor to their reporting (claim cure to cancer... but case studies on psoriasis and ALS? really... how is THAT relevant?) and the ones that get people late (or treat them on top of traditional care) have a harder time with separating whether their protocol really impact the situation at all in either direction... and when they don't disclose their prices or ask for a pre-payment to a foreign country... it makes me want to plan a vacation with that hard-earned money instead!
i guess i get to have a middle of the road approach, and keep realizing that there are some things that might be beneficial and i should be willing to try them, especially if they are happily decadent (like a sauna! LOL)
