this week the fridge is a case in point -- i started out with the mistake of going to the store hungry, and i felt fairly energetic at the time, so not only did i fill the cart, it was mostly things that needed prep... perhaps ONE project would have been sufficient entertainment for the week, but i ended up with the following recipes/concepts in mind:
- spinach soup (http://www.melskitchencafe.com/2013/09/creamy-spinach-soup.html)
- some crock pot meal, to include meatballs and veggies
- sweet potato and black bean burritos, especially since i was gifted some newly-made salsa (thank you Fred, for all the ways you spoil me, but especially appreciative of the food that comes from your talents & love)
- something with spaghetti squash... since it is fall and they remind me of our garden growing up
on top of that, the desire to eat a variety of crunchy veggies meant i included carrots, radishes, cucumber, jicama joined the party before i was done shopping
today i decided i would make the soup, and prep for other meals by making meatballs, squash, sweet potatoes (oven combining, here i come! altho i didn't make the cornbread that i had out and planned because... well, it was a bit ridiculous at this point)

can you imagine? stuff coming in and out of the oven while other stuff on the counter being prepped -- hot stuff in the blender and containers with crudites for work -- dishes to wash and a growing pile for the compost -- all in all, not much room to move!!!
somehow it sorted itself out before i was thoroughly exhausted...
and now i need to get busy EATING what i prepped, since it would be very sad to let it go to waste after that motivation

Medical news:
off of tamoxifen and on a different medicine -- hoping the common side effects don't come my way [i don't need MORE bone pain, or joint issues!!!] doubled the morphine dose... went from a blue pill to a pinkish-purple one, and they still promise me i won't become a junkie. changed the recommendation for what i take if i'm having breakthrough pain (now using aleve)
i will go in this week and get a baseline for bone density, and i started taking d3/calcium to support bone health... another pink pill joining the supplement parade. far more vitamins than prescriptions
in the grand scheme of things, i have to think i am quite fortunate -- to have such a serious chronic condition and only have to take 3 pills a day... the burden is light in the pill realm!
i was sad to have my upcoming appointments scheduled and see a "black friday" chemo day. but i guess i can stay nearby for thanksgiving rather than wandering too far afield

the works saga is still muddy, but i am trying not to take it personally. One of my friends said " The propensity for the right thing to happen goes up with your involvement." i hope he is correct, and i continue to want to be contributing value to the team and the project.
