news and continuing denial

My Pet/CT has "mixed" as a result.  Still in liver and pancreas, back in parts of the sacrum where i was radiated (they can't radiate again in the same area) and some larger tumors.  a small new tumor in my lungs...  nothing particular to explain the return of sciatica, which is helping me be more mindful and less willing to sew for hours! LOL

the oncologist and i decided the best course of action stop one med and start two others as soon as the insurance company approves the prescriptions.  still oral chemo. a 4-week cycle instead of 3-week one.  will meet with the pain dr this week and see what shifts we make on that front.

still not sure i've gotten my head wrapped around this.  the last med had a "happy path" of two years, and started to not work for me after 4 months... the new one has a "happy path" of a year... it doesn't have too severe of side effect.  we both laughed at "fatigue" as the primary one, since that's a marker of cancer AND also a side effect of every treatment i have been on.  guess we will find out whether this is more or less than other meds.

i still get to travel.  yay!

i just worked out the first draft of my tax returns... boo... but at least once i get all the schedules ready i can write the necessary checks :)

spring is in full swing here -- beautiful blooming trees and flowers, but still a bit of snow on the peaks.

the job has a new business analyst -- sharp man, delighted to help him get up to speed.  It makes me happy indeed not to feel so particularly accountable for the weight of the project.  they are still happy with my work and willing to deal with my random gaps in schedule... i teased the vp that he'd probably realize i was incapable of the job before i knew it myself!!!
