I'm not much for entering my quilts in quilt shows... for several reasons! i'm usually not willing to invest that much time and attention to detail on a quilt (INSANE said Lisa, about some of the quilting details) i also give away most of the quilts that i make soon after their completion, so it's not that easy to think that there plenty of times i could plan an entry but the quilt makes me more curious to complete this one so i can start the next... happy to have an excuse to buy more fabric shopping!
But our guild had a special exhibit at the HMQS and asked for offerings from the members; not to be judged or given medals, but just to celebrate the joy of quilting. i had a quilt in progress that was initially homeless, but as i made it, Lisa showed such joy in its progress. THEN i found the perfect backing, and she kept urging me to keep it rather than send it away...
it wasn't until Lisa read the card that she realized that i intended the quilt to be hers! such joy!!
Simple pleasures.
