My dear one and family-by-choice breathed her last yesterday. I am so honored to have known her for so many years, to be so fiercely welcome in her world, and to be so deeply loved.
Grief is interesting territory, at once new and familiar. My head knows she was so ill and in pain and that it is a blessing that she isn't suffering now... but my heart is aching, as well it should.
