Happy Sunday

It's been a weekend of sleeping in, laundry, grocery shopping, feeling like an employed human with errands... it's a wonderful thing!

The new consulting assignment that i have is in Murray (about 12 1/2 miles away).  I will be helping the corporate office of a collection of shipping franchises upgrade and refresh their software.  Learning new terms and enjoying a collection of people who are wanting to work on this with me... expect it to be a great experience, for as long as it lasts!

Friday consult has tweaked my medicines, pending insurance approval.  The prior hormone regimen had started not to work as well as we would like, so we'll see how my body responds to the next option.  I will also take my scans back to the radiation oncologist to reassess the details of my current case... so it's possible that early next year i will get a series of ultra-powerful x-rays (aka radiation treatments) -- not at every tumor site, but perhaps at selected locations.

It's not great news, but it's not traumatic either -- Dr. Harker prepared me for this just being part of the process -- the drugs often work for the vast majority of the cells -- but then the ones that do not respond end up being the "next generation" of my mutations... it's the precise reason that if chemo comes back into the mix, they will not give me the same cocktail of drugs -- perhaps some of them, but not exactly the same ones...  we just keep monitoring and tweaking and getting through each day

with as much joy as possible.
