ah, the mountains...

i was fortunate indeed to spend a week in the mountains... i know they are not that far away from me now, but sometimes i don't get a full-on view of them when i wake up in the morning... so the sight of sun on rock still makes me deeply happy (and these days, my sore back says it's better to have a bed to sleep on than a tent!)

besides the view and the wildflowers and the blue jays eating peanuts on my balcony, the best part of the week was the company... perhaps in this season of my life, more than any other, the joy of children's laughter and the mellow, ordinary conversations about clothes and food and weather are indeed quite precious
